Don't Waste Autumn Leaves...

Don't Waste Autumn Leaves...

A leaf wafts down spinning,
Slowly winding about,
Twisting color ,
Weaving through,
Waltzing the breath-misted Autumn air,
One among many,
Myriad,
No one can see them all,
In all appearance endless,
Timeless,
Paintbrush stroke in a masterpiece of infinity.

The leaf's time may be done,
Yet you are the one,
Knower of the nature of clocks.

Leaves fell before you,
They dance wind-swept past your feet,
A fractal bit of inconsequence,
As will more long after Winter has let you go.

I would whisper this to homeless kings,
But they already know.

Warped...

Warped...

Time and space and mind,
Swirled across the mists of eternity I wander,
Looking for the wisdom of the ages,
Breathing in the tides of infinity,
I look out to the horizon and see things as they are now,
Yet when I look up or down or off into space,
As they could be should be would be,
If there were any heart in the logic,
Reality wouldn't be so...warped.

Minibike Summer Haiku...

Minibike Summer Haiku...

I just put in gas.
The minibike moves summer fast.
Speed bought for a dime.

Author's Comments

My eighth birthday present was a lawn mower engine minibike. I lived in Genoa, NE. I had trails all over and roads with nothing but cornfields for company of gravel. 1970 and a childhood dream come true. (& it cost 10 cents to fill the tank)

Flying For Fish...

Flying For Fish...

It's Fryday night,
For a boy from Cheeseland,
No time for beer and brats,
That's Saturday afternoon,
Don'tchya kno,
Bring me all that crispy gold,
Like my Mom's days of old,
On a plate with tartar and lemon,
And make no bones,
About it,
It's Fryday night,
And,
I'm flying for fish.
